The Challenge

The client wanted to disrupt the peer-to-peer payments space with a product that made splitting bills and managing group expenses genuinely enjoyable. The app needed to be fast, secure, and social—while navigating the complexities of Open Banking integration and FCA e-money regulations.

Technical Architecture

We built a React Native app with a Node.js backend, integrating with TrueLayer for Open Banking connectivity and Modulr for e-money wallet functionality. The real-time notification system uses WebSockets for instant updates on payment activity.
